Naouri Group Joins the UN Global Compact

Naouri Group of companies announced that it has recently joined the UN Global Compact (GC), an international initiative that brings companies together with UN agencies, labor and civil society to support universal environmental and social principle.  

Naouri Group Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Naouri, expressed his interest to Mr. Pan Ki Mon, UN Secretary General in joining the GC and commented  “ this initiative is considered to be as one of the steps towards  our dedication and commitment  for supporting the workers rights, and protecting the environment,  ensuring our agents and clients locally and internationally of our oath to always be in the lead  ”

Now Naouri Group is listed among the GC list of companies for being committed to aligning its operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.

As the world's largest, global corporate citizenship initiative, the Global Compact is first and foremost concerned with exhibiting and building the social legitimacy of business and markets. The Global Compact operational phase was launched at UN headquarters in New York on 26 July 2000. Today, more than 4000 companies over 116 countries from all regions of the world are engaged in the Global Compact.


Naouri: Presentation on Jordan Shipping industry at the 7th German Foreign Trade Congress

The 7th German Foreign Trade Congress 2007, was held in Bremen on the 13 November 2007, organized by the German Federal Ministry of Industry and Technology, German Foreign Trade Association, Association of German Industries, Association of German Chambers of Industry and Trade and the Senate Council of Bremen City.

His Majesty, King Abdullah attended as one of the guests of honor and the first political guest at level of leaders hosted in the forum, accompanied with a Jordanian economic delegation and representatives of producers, production sectors, and some industrial companies.

 Jordanian Logistics Association's President, Mr. Ibrahim Naouri, made a presentation about the Shipping and Freight Forwarding Sector in Jordan and  highlights on the future of the Logistics Industry, emphasizing the geographical strategic location of Jordan in the heart of the Arab world. He elaborated on the developments of the logistics sector during the last couple of years and its aspired goals and future plans for Aqaba port and Queen Alia International Airport. He also highlighted the great investment opportunities in various sectors especially in water, energy, railway and infrastructure sectors.

 His Majesty called for finding new mechanisms for partnership between public and private sectors and for helping in developing the great capabilities at the aim of increasing the volume of trade and investment between the Middle East and Europe, affirming the importance of the private sector in achieving development and progress.

The forum is considered an important event for the German companies that are involved with the foreign trade and it is a platform for politicians, economists and international figures.

Naouri Group signed an exclusive sales agency agreement with Intertek - ETL SEMKO for Jordan and other countries in the region.

Near East Inspection Company is now authorized to issue international certificates of Quality Marks and Conformity that are internationally and globally approved by worldwide governments, importers and consumers. Especially the European and US markets. Issuing such certificates will provide a great support for Jordanian manufacturers to export their products to international markets.

Intertek - ETL SEMKO Certifications and Marks are: CE, S, CB, ETL, EMC, Telecom, SCP, Manufacturer co-operation programmes (SCP). And Near East Inspection Company is one of the Naouri Group companies, and is specialized in Cargo Inspection services.

Al-Muna Security Company wins tender for Al-Hassan University in Ma'an

Al-Muna Security Company was recently awarded a one year contract to provide security services to Al-Hassan University in Ma'an; the contract involves providing over 85 experienced guards at different points throughout the University and Ma'an City.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Muna Security is considered among the leading guard security companies in Jordan, and is specialized in providing professional security solutions to their clients, under the supervision of highly trained and experienced staff from the Jordanian Special Operations, Royal Guards and Public Security Directorate.

NAOURI first President elected for the Jordanian Logistics Association

JLA held it’s first General Assembly meeting on October 28th,2007 at 10 am, which was attended by Mr. Jehad Jadallah, representative of the Ministry of Labor and lead by Mr. Ibrahim Naouri, JLA chairman of Establishing Committee, taking place at the associations premises and attended by 29 of the associations establishing members.

The first session began with Mr. Naouri speech discussing the establishing committee pre-set agenda and followed by the General Assembly elections for the associations Board Members, which resulted in voting for 9 members Messers: Ibrahim Naouri, Nabil Al Khatib, Rami Al Naber, Faraj Basil, Bassam Al Jazi, Marwan Ghaith, Bassam Zaben, Nezar Saleh and Ahmad Shahrouri.

Once the General Assembly voting was over, the elected Board Members held their first meeting and assigned the positions as the following: Association’s President, Mr. Ibrahim Naouri, Vice- President, Mr. Nabil Al Khatib, Secretariat, Mr. Bassam Al Zaben, Treasurer Mr. Marwan Ghaith the rest of the board members will be as ordinary members. Also the legally authorized members’ names were nominated and assigned with their liabilities. The discussions covered the membership fees and approved by the board and a plan was set for the upcoming phase.

JLA has its own premises in Shmeisani that will be run by its Board Members, secretariat and dedicated staff.
